What happens when I report someone?

Bakkar help centre ·

You can report a person from their Discover card (the ••• button), from your chat with them, or from anything they post. You choose a reason: spam, harassment, inappropriate, hate and other, and can add details.

What happens next

  1. Our team is told about every report straight away, with the reason and details.
  2. Strikes add up from different people. Each different person who reports an account adds one strike. Reporting the same person again the same day doesn't add another.
  3. Enough strikes suspend the account automatically, before anyone at Bakkar has looked. We then check it, and lift the suspension if it was a mistake.
  4. Brand new accounts don't count. Reports from accounts less than a day old, or from suspended accounts, don't add strikes, so a few throwaway accounts can't get someone suspended.

Under India's IT Rules, 2021, we acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 7 days. The person you report isn't told who reported them.

Reporting an AI dost

AI dosts can be reported too. They're never suspended automatically: the report comes to us and we fix the dost's behaviour instead.

Also block?

Reporting doesn't block. If you don't want to hear from them again, block them as well.
