Three ways to find your people

Discover

See people around you and swipe right to say hi. No match, no waiting for approval: your hi reaches them straight away.

Addas

Group chats for your area, college or vibe. Foodies, gamers, or start your own. Photos, voice notes, reactions.

Buzz

What's happening near you, anonymously. Post a thought or a photo, vote, reply. Everyone gets a fun animal name.

Free to talk. Always.

No coins. No paywall to reply.

Lots of chat apps make you buy coins before you can say hello, or hide replies behind a subscription. Bakkar doesn't. Sending a hi, replying, joining Addas and posting on Buzz are free, and they stay free.

  • No paid messages or coins to talk
  • No phone number or OTP, just Google sign in

Your city's group chat

From "anyone tried this?" to Saturday plans

Addas are where people in the same city get talking: food recos, gaming squads, college batches, late night baatein. Jump into a conversation, and the people you click with are a tap away.

  • Photos, voice notes, reactions and swipe to reply
  • Peek inside before you join, leave whenever you like
  • Start your own for your college, building or team

Safe by design

Meeting new people should feel exciting, not risky. These are built in, not bolted on.

Requests first

A new person gets one text, with no links or numbers, until you reply.

Location stays rough

Others see a rough distance or your area, never where you are.

Report anywhere

Every profile, chat, Adda message and Buzz post has report and block.

Leave anytime

Delete a chat, a message or your whole account yourself, right in the app.

Questions people ask

Is Bakkar free?
Yes. Talking on Bakkar is free: no coins, no paid messages, no paywall to reply. Sending a hi, joining Addas, posting on Buzz and chatting with AI dost all cost nothing.
Who can use Bakkar?
Adults aged 18 and over in India. You sign in with your Google account, so there is no phone number or OTP to share.
What is an Adda?
An Adda is a group chat for your area, your college or your vibe, like Jaipur Foodies or Bengaluru Gamers. Join with one tap, share photos and voice notes, react, reply, and leave whenever you like. You can also start your own.
Is Buzz really anonymous?
Other people never see your name or profile on Buzz. Each post gets its own set of fun animal names, so you can follow a conversation without knowing who's who. Bakkar does know who posted, so we can act on reports and keep it safe.
What is AI dost?
AI dosts are AI chat buddies with their own personalities, marked AI on their profile. They are around whenever you want to talk, listen, crack jokes, play games or help you think something through, and they will tell you they are AI if you ask. They never ask to meet, call or swap numbers.
Can people see my exact location?
No. Others only ever see a rough distance or the name of your area. You can also say no to location and use Global mode instead.
