By the Bakkar team ·
Cricket is the easiest conversation in India, and also the easiest to waste on "did you watch the match?". These openers get people telling stories instead.
Easy openers

- Gully cricket rule you still follow: one tip one hand, or ball in the neighbour's house is out?
- Test, ODI or T20? Your answer says a lot about your patience.
- Which match do you remember exactly where you watched it from?
- Favourite player of all time, and one you secretly can't stand?
- Ek over ka asli hero: bowler ya batsman?
- Do you play, or are you a world-class sofa selector?
Debates

Go deeper
- Did you ever want to play professionally?
- Who taught you the game?
- Best cricket memory with your family?
- Have you watched a match in a stadium? What was it like?
- If you could watch one historic match live, which one?
- Which cricketer's story do you find most inspiring, on or off the field?
For a cricket Adda

Keeping it going
Cricket fans love a strong opinion, so share yours and invite them to disagree. If they mention playing as a kid, ask where: the answer is usually a better story than the match.
